Course Description
The medical management course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills that allow them to recognize different medical diseases related to dental and oral problems. Manage different dental complications of medical illness.
Most diseases affect dental treatment plans either directly or indirectly, so we designed this course to focus on the clinical aspects of all body systems, common diseases that affect those systems,, and their significance on dental treatment.

Course Aims
Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to: Have an appropriate background covering the common important internal medicine emergencies and diseases. He/she should also develop an appropriate communication and problem-solving skills regarding medically compromised patients.
Course Outcomes
- Learn basics of Medicine, its fundamentals and apply it during clinical practice.
- Know common blood disorders, identify their signs and symptoms, their implication in dental surgery and their management.
- Identify different Gastrointestinal disorders their signs and symptoms, their impact in dental surgery and their management.
- Have knowledge of common cardiovascular diseases that presents in their daily practice, their impact in dental surgery and impact of dental procedures in the cardiovascular diseases.
- Have knowledge of common respiratory diseases and their presentation in daily practice, their impact in dental surgery
- Have knowledge of chronic renal failure and their effect on oral tissues.
- Have knowledge of common endocrinal diseases and their presentation in daily practice, with special focus on Diabetes mellitus
- Know basic information about psychological and neurological diseases.
